Half refund upon cancellation of course on a clear 3-6 days’ notice.
No refund for cancellation within 48 hours; fees will be forwarded to any Re-Scheduled booking.
Refund is NOT applicable for cancellations made within 24 hours of booking unless evidence of extraordinary circumstances such as death certificate, medical certificate or any other document approved by course admin.
Administration cost of $100.00 + Gst would be retained for all of the above.
2. Group Booking Discounts
If you are registered for a group discount, the discount will only be applicable if the whole group has been attended as per commitment. If the required number of people for the group discount cannot be met, each employee will be charged the usual list price (if they fail to inform the admin).
3. Company In-House Training
All in-house training is conducted under the guidelines of NZTA-SOAC with the following requirements. The course venue shall be conducive and hygienic and be of sufficient size to accommodate the number of people; silence shall be maintained at all times; and adequate lighting, heating, ventilation, tables, chairs, and toilet facilities shall be provided by the company in charge of hosting the training. (Note: The company indemnifies the trainer from any incident/accident/mishap that happens during the training at their premises).
4. Health and Safety Act 2015
The Company will ensure and maintain all health and safety measures in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and also will avoid doing so themselves or to any other persons. Failure to adhere to any requirements instructed by the trainer or any staff member will result in disqualification from the training forthwith.
5. Special Needs Or Extra Requirements
Any person attending any course run by MAK DRIVING ACADEMY Ltd. shall declare their special needs 24 hours prior to the training session in writing at the time of enrollment.
Please note that there will be additional charges if the candidate has a language barrier problem ($300 + GST per standard unit). If a student doesn’t meet the level of written and oral English equivalent to IELTS 5.5 or higher, any extra driver training (Class 2, 4, or 5) is $200 + GST per hour if required, reassessment charges are $220 + GST, extra time spend on theory is $70 + GST per hour, Hiab training is $200 + GST per hour, and extra forklift training charges are $50 + GST per hour.

You must meet the level of reading, writing, listening, and speaking English equivalent to IELTS 5.5 or higher as part of the assessment.
The candidate is responsible for checking any extra charges; the company or trainer is not liable for it.
If any payments are not made within the specified time period, the matter will be referred to a debt collection agency.
Invoice for Language Barrier/extra driver training/extra time spend on theory/assessment payments Must be made before the certificate is handed over.
Course fees are non-refundable.
Provision of a certificate will only be granted once the candidate has met all standard requirements and the trainer and admin team have completed their audits, which can take 3 to 5 business days before the certificate is issued.
If you’re trying to convert your overseas license in New Zealand and the NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) refuses to provide the required certificate because of safety concerns with the candidate, the company, or any provider/contractors, they won’t be responsible for the NZTA Assessment/Exemption for the grant of an NZ Licence (no refund policy applies).
Certificate Collection Policy—Certificate collection is available only between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. You must inform the admin by email or phone call at least 1 hour before your visit. This is to ensure availability in case the admin is in a meeting, attending a client visit, or otherwise unavailable. Collections before 10:00 AM or after 2:00 PM are by appointment only.
If the vehicle is operated by a learner driver or any other driver, any fines incurred while the vehicle is in their control will be recorded under the driver’s licence and must be paid by the driver.
Drivers must operate the vehicle responsibly and comply with all traffic laws and safety regulations at all times.
6. Disclaimer of Liability
Customer Indemnify Mak Driving Academy Ltd, Manik Arora and trainers working under Mak Driving Academy Ltd, local bodies and landowners, their agents, contractors, and all officials against any claims arising from my attendance at this event.
The client is aware the training might (a) cause me or anyone else injury/harm or (b) damagemy or a third party’s property.
The client wishes to take part in this event despite the above risks.
Neither the client nor anyone associated or connected with me will make any claim against Mak Driving Academy Ltd or their officers/employees or agents in respect of any injury to me or damage to any property regardless of how the damage or injury occurs.
Client will take full responsibility for all claims, damages, or losses (including costs), which occur as the direct or indirect result of any injury to myself, the owner/instructor or damage to third-party property.
The client should be physically fit, and there is no health or other reason why I should not participate in this event.
The client is aware that this disclaimer will not affect any legal obligations you have to the company, which you cannot contract out of under New Zealand law.
The client agrees that in this disclaimer, “My Property” includes any property owned by the company or in my possession or under my control, and “third party” is affected by my actions.
The client agrees that this disclaimer will be binding on my family, their heirs, my legal assigns, and my administrators and executors.
Clients using any vehicle, machinery, or equipment supplied by MAK Driving Academy Ltd. will hold full responsibility for any damage caused to the vehicle, machinery, or equipment while it is in their (client’s) control. I agree to pay for any costs—parts, labor, or repair—to the vehicle, machinery, or equipment. I am also liable to pay any damage/cost incurred by a third party due to my actions while undertaking this driver training and driver assessment.
During car training, if you are involved in an accident, hit another vehicle or person, or cause any damage, you will be personally liable for any fines or repair costs incurred. The company will not be responsible for any such expenses.
7. Terms & Conditions Modifications
We retain the right to alter these Terms and Conditions at any time, and if we do, we will update them on the website.
We do not offer refunds for any services or products provided (if you didn’t finish your course within the timeframes as per the requirements, you need to reset again and pay the new course fee).
